Once in a while you might need to block specific third parties from accessing your websites. There are a lot of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for example, and create fake visits and website traffic. Additionally, there are spammers who leave links to suspicious Internet sites as comments to site articles. This type of things could drastically undermine your hard work, since nobody likes to visit a site with many hundreds of fake comments, not to mention that the increased traffic from both spammers and bots can generate high load on the web server where your site is hosted, which could result in the site not working properly. One of the best solutions in this case is to block the IPs which produce the fake traffic, in order to be certain that the visits to your site are real.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting

If you buy a cloud hosting plan from our company, you shall be able to see comprehensive traffic statistics for all your websites and if you notice that a lot of the visits to any of them are not legit, you are able to block the IP addresses which have created the most traffic via our IP Blocking tool. The interface is quite simple - choose the needed domain or subdomain from a drop-down list, then type in the IP address you want to block and save the change. All of the addresses you have blacklisted shall appear in the same section of the Control Panel, so you can always remove any one of them and enable it to access your Internet site again. You could block whole IP ranges through the tool too - you just have to leave 1 or 2 octets from the address blank. For example, entering 1.2.3. will block all 254 IPs from 1.2.3.1 to 1.2.3.255.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia hosting CP, offered with our semi-dedicated hosting plans, will allow you to solve the issue with unwanted traffic very efficiently. It features an IP blocking tool where you can add IP addresses with several mouse clicks. All domains and subdomains which you have within the account will be listed in a drop-down menu, so you just have to choose the one you need and then input the IP address that has to be blocked. If you want to block an entire range, a C-class network for instance, you just need to type the first three octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. This will block all 254 addresses, so you will not have to enter them manually. Because all the IPs that you include in this section will be listed, you could easily unblock any one of them by clicking the Delete button associated with the given IP.
